From an email:

The Art Room is a pottery painting studio, art gallery, and creative space. Growing up, I loved making art with my mom. We designated a little space in our basement “the art room,” so this space is my attempt to elevate and share her love and vision for creativity. It’s for people who love art; people who like to make art; people who like to make art but don’t have time to “make art”; people who are interested in breaking their daily routine; people looking to reconnect with their friends, family, loved ones; people looking to build new relationships.

It’s hard out there, so this space is created to create, relax, and reconnect with yourself and your community. The Art Room’s pottery painting studio offers a wide selection of dishwasher safe, lead-free mugs to choose from, ranging from $20 to $35. Stop by the studio for a self-guided painting experience. Stay for 2 minutes or 2 hours. The Art Room’s gallery displays art from local and emerging artists. You can purchase their work online or in store, and are always invited to stop by to view their art. In The Art Room’s creative space, we are excited to host a wide range of other creative events like figure drawing classes, poetry readings, yoga classes, etc. We also offer a small selection of wine, beer, and seltzer for purchase if guests would like to turn their experience into a paint and sip!”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
