“Investigators with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic crash that occurred on Monday, February 7, 2022, in the intersection of 9th Street and New York Avenue, Northwest.
According to the preliminary investigation, at approximately 8:35 pm, the victim’s vehicle was traveling southbound on 9th Street, Northwest. The person of interest was travelling eastbound on New York Avenue, Northwest, when it ran through a red traffic light and collided with the victim’s vehicle. The person of interest then exited their vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Initial report from MPD: “Alert: Armed Robbery Investigation in the block of 400 K Street NW. Lookout for (3) B/M 5’5-6’0″ wearing all black and armed with riffles and handguns. Last seen in a Black sedan (possibly a Buick) Eastbound on K Street NW.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying suspects and a vehicle in reference to an Armed Robbery of an Establishment (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the 400 block of K Street, Northwest.
At approximately 9:29 pm, the suspects entered an establishment at the listed location. One of the suspects approached an employee and demanded money while brandishing a firearm. Two additional suspects also produced firearms. (more…)

I was taking my usual route to work, heading southbound on 4th St NW at 7:55am yesterday, when an individual pushing a red shopping cart began verbally threatening to kill me. He then stepped in front of me into the street at that intersection and brandished a crow bar, saying that he would never let me cross the street and he would end my life. (more…)

Have you heard anything about the Union Kitchen on 9th and N St NW? I walked by yesterday (1/9) and it’s completely papered over and dark inside. I didn’t see any signage indicating a closure or remodel.
I live right around the corner and love their breakfast bar so hoping they aren’t going anywhere!”
