“Dear PoPville,

The attached image is the northwest corner of 16th and Newton Streets NW. It seems like every few weeks a truck cuts the turn from southbound 16th to westbound Newton too close and hits the traffic signal on the left, with the red light, turning it to face the wrong direction. I’ve reported it to 311 multiple times and the signal is usually turned back around within 48 hours, only to be hit again not long after. It’s been turned back around the right direction but I’m sure it will get twisted again soon. I’m wondering at what point does DDOT figure out that the signal and/or pole should be re-positioned to avoid getting hit? “

“someone was stabbed in front of Marx Cafe last night, loooots of blood and cops. DC Police sent out an alert for the stabbing”

“ADW Knife- 3200 block of Mt Pleasant St NW, on January 22, 2018, at approximately 1840 hrs, two adult male victims were assaulted by 3-4 H/M’s during the assault one victim was cut in the mouth and hand with a knife. The second victim sustained a laceration to his arm. Both were transported to local Hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect(s) were described as Hispanic males possibly juveniles. “Dear PoPville,

I’m hoping we can get the word out about this vehicle that has been parked in the same exact spot on Newton St NW in Mt Pleasant since this summer. It’s parked on Newton St NW, between Brown and 17th St.

I finally called 311 personally about 2 weeks ago; it appears to be abandoned and should be towed away. It looks like nothing has been done, except it received a 2nd ticket for not being registered in DC. (more…)
