Thanks to Steve for sending:

“Sunday night around 7:30 pm, there was a gathering of about 30 ATV’s at the BP station on 13 and N NW. I called the police but they never responded. Most of them took off going East on N while a few went South on 13th. I really hope no innocent pedestrians were hurt in the maylay.”

While their balls have not yet dropped, there is light at the end of this tunnel. I’m told they are “shooting to open Tuesday or Wednesday” of next week.

Again, this is very very good news.

This is the former Cork space.

Check out The Meatball Shop’s NYC menus here.

Sign looks cool lit up – fingers crossed for next week:

From a press release:

“Commissary hosts a bottomless Lady Gaga-themed brunch on Saturday, October 6 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. the same weekend Lady Gaga’s much-anticipated film, A Star Is Born, premieres in theaters.

Known for its bottomless Mondays, offering unlimited mimosas and bloody marys for $18, Commissary is making an exception for its popular Popstar brunch series. Lady Gaga is the latest of a legendary lineup that has included Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Sia, and more. That means Lady Gaga’s discography will be the soundtrack for the event and her many incredible music videos and live performances will play on Commissary’s full wall projector throughout the entirety of brunch. The Washington Blade’s 2018 Best of Gay DC “Best Drag Queen” finalist, Desiree Dik will host the event as well as perform live. (more…)

From a press release:

Lincoln Congregational Temple, founded in 1868 and on the eve of its 150th Anniversary, voted on Sunday August 5th to dissolve, owing to dwindling finances, low membership, limited member resources and engagement, changes within the surrounding community, and an undetermined mission and ministry.

A letter form its Moderator to Lincoln Family Members is attached. (more…)

Thanks to Hannah for sending from “14th next to where the Meatball Shop will be.”

Ed. Note: The former Crossfit DC location.

For those not familiar with The Outrage:

“We’re a female-founded activist apparel company that is your one stop shop for activism. Wherever you are on your activist journey you can be outraged here.”

The Outrage opened in Adams Morgan back in January 2017, attracting some huge crowds when they first opened. It’s not clear if the Adams Morgan location will remain open after the 14th Street location opens but I’ll update when we learn more.
