“Greetings customers of Logan Circle Laundromat. We understand the inconvenience of our business temporarily closing. The decision was not made lightly. While laundromats are essential businesses, just because we can stay open does not mean we should. The health of our staff, customers, and community were taken into consideration. We also spoke with other laundromat owners who had similar concerns. What if our employees are infected with COVID-19? Anyone Know the Status of Great Wall Szechuan House? Greek Deli?

My husband and I have tried ordering from Great Wall Szechuan House twice this weekend and no one is picking up the phone. I know there were reports last month about them possibly closing, but we just ordered maybe 2 weeks ago without a problem. Have you heard anything about whether or not they’re still open?”

Stacie asks: “has anyone checked on Kostas and Greek Deli? Office is in Foggy Bottom, but working from home in NoVa and fretting about not being able to support them right now.”

“As plant-centric Oyster Oyster prepared to finally open its doors after years in the making, COVID-19 hit and the restaurant brainstormed ways to take care of staff it had already hired, and cover bills so it could hopefully, eventually open once this world pandemic was over. Enter: Scrappy’s Bagel Bar – a temporary weekend pop-up from Chef Rob Rubba, featuring homemade bagels and schmears, plus at-home mimosa kits served out of its sister restaurant Estadio. Scrappy’s Bagel Bar will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 11am until the bagels run out.

There were many factors that inspired the pop-up and helped it all come together: Rubba’s first job was baking bagels and making bagel sandwiches at a Manhattan Bagel shop in southern Jersey, he started his culinary career in pastry and often makes bagels at home for his family, and Estadio has fantastic bread ovens (which has allowed them to bake all breads in-house) at their disposal. Early Morning Shootings in Logan Circle and Columbia Heights

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of R Street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with a non life threatening injury to the lower extremities.

Motorists and pedestrians can expect road closures in the area as we investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”
