“Dear PoPville,

Last night I was enjoying date night at Doi Moi when someone opened my purse hanging off my chair and stole my wallet. I’m devastated and feeling like my faith in humanity is broken since this is the second time in 1 year I’ve been robbed. I didn’t see who did it and didn’t notice it was gone until I got a fraud alert from my bank. I send this in to warn people to not let your guard down like I did. “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 11th and Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 3:04 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. While on the scene, officers were notified that an adult male was being treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Readers first reported at 8:50pm: “Anyone know why I’m hearing multiple helicopters over the Downtown/Logan Circle area?”

“We saw a silver sedan being chased by multiple MPD vehicles. It almost took out multiple cars and pedestrians on 13th, M street and came back out from the alley then headed to Thomas Circle”

“Saw car speeding east on N Street, swung left on 13th going south at former BP station with MPD patrols and copter in pursuit. Pedestrians scattered back to sidewalks.”

“Looks like they stopped someone.”

“Ambulance on the scene now.”

Last week a reader noticed “Compliments Only sub shop wallpaper up in the Sorellina windows”.

The owners tell me: “The PLAN is to close 14th and open Dupont in early summer.

Menu will have all the same items plus a few new ones. We’re getting an oven (we currently just have 1 induction burner) which means…hot subs! Meatball sub anyone?!?!? (more…)
