There was a devastating fire on 24th St NE in Kingman Park yesterday morning that displaced 5 households on the block, three of those had their homes completely destroyed. Thankfully, no one was injured in the fire. The neighborhood is banding together to raise relief funds for those families.”

“At approximately 1:15 PM this afternoon, First District units responded for the sounds of gunshots in the 1300 block of D Street, NE. Upon arrival, an adult male victim was found suffering from one or more gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where all lifesaving efforts failed, and he was pronounced deceased.

“On Friday, October 5th, 2018, at approximately 5:45 PM, Fifth District Officers received a call for the sound of gunshots near 15th and D Streets, NE. Officers responded to the location and located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical assistance was requested, and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Two (2) individuals have been detained in reference to this shooting, and two (2) firearms have been recovered.

The victim, a nine year-old female, was struck by gunfire while playing in the block. She was subsequently transported to an area hospital in stable condition. Fifth District detectives are currently investigating the burglary of an occupied residence that occurred in the 1600 block of Kramer Street, NE at approximately 4:30 am on the morning of September 20th.
