5:45pm Shooting in Kingman Park, 2 Guns Recovered; Double Shooting in Columbia Heights; Shots Fired on U Street, Gun Recovered, Arrest Made

“On Friday, October 5th, 2018, at approximately 5:45 PM, Fifth District Officers received a call for the sound of gunshots near 15th and D Streets, NE. Officers responded to the location and located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical assistance was requested, and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Two (2) individuals have been detained in reference to this shooting, and two (2) firearms have been recovered.

“The Third District Detective’s Office is currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1300 block of Columbia Road, NW. Third District patrol units responded to the area to investigate the sound of gunshots. Officers found two victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds. (more…)

“Fifth District Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of E Street, NE at approximately 9:30pm on the evening of September 28th. The victim, a nine year-old female, was struck by gunfire while playing in the block. She was subsequently transported to an area hospital in stable condition. Fifth District detectives are currently investigating the burglary of an occupied residence that occurred in the 1600 block of Kramer Street, NE at approximately 4:30 am on the morning of September 20th. “5D members are currently investigating an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Gun that occurred on Monday, September 3, 2018 at approximately 9:16 pm near the intersection of 17th Street and D Street NE.

An adult male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound, and was transported to an area hospital with a non life-threatening injury.

“Members of the Fifth District are investigating an ADW Gun that took place at the intersection of 16th Street, NE and F Street, NE at approximately 12:02 am on the morning of June 1st. Officers were summoned to the location for the sound of gunshots and, upon arrival, located an individual suffering from gunshot wounds. As the investigation progressed, two additional gunshot victims were located. All three victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. “This morning a citizen flagged down officers in the 600 block of 15th St, NE for a gun lying on the sidewalk. The officers recovered a black 9mm Semi-Automatic handgun, loaded, with one round in the chamber.

This is proof that with the citizens help and cooperation “We all” can make the city a safer place.”
