Yesterday folks were very excited to learn that they’d be able to soon get some Simit (Turkish Bagels) in the District. Turns out soon meant really soon – they’re now open (Monday-Thursday 7-8, Friday-Saturday 7-9, Sunday 8-8) and of course you can get more than just Simit – thanks to the owners for sending us the new menu for DC: (more…)

An update on those Turkish Bagels we heard about in December. They’re very close:

“Simit is a traditional bread eaten throughout the Balkans and Mediterranean for breakfast and as a snack during the day. Often called a “Turkish Bagel,” Simit are actually softer and lighter on the inside and crunchier on the outside than a bagel.”
Check out their menu here.

Also a Lilly Pulitzer “Resort Wear & Chic Beach Clothing” is coming next door:

Any fans of Mochi Ice Cream?
“Mochi ice cream is a confection made from Japanese mochi (pounded sticky rice) with an ice cream filling. It was invented by American businesswoman and activist Frances Hashimoto.”
