Thanks to Allison for sending word about the closure. Their website still lists the location but a call for details went to voicemail. Greenberry’s other D.C. location is located 1805 E Street, NW.

This is crazy, a reader reports on Saturday:
“Another casualty on 19th St between K and L. They’re packing it up today.”
This Bold Bite only opened back in October. This space is also formerly home to a Red Robin and Boloco burritos.
A call to the store immediately goes to a “user not available” message. The location is still listed on their website. Did anyone happen to notice if they were open this morning?
STAY TUNED.

Must’ve forgot to make them “gifts”.
From MPD:

At approximately 7:00 pm, officers arrived at an establishment in the listed location, to conduct an investigation due to ongoing drug complaints. During the investigation, officers seized approximately 17 pounds of marijuana, 10 pounds of edibles, and 2 quarts of THC infused oils.
On Saturday, January 20, 2018, 22 individuals were arrested in connection to the investigation. Charges include Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.”

Ken reports:
“I noticed that construction workers were putting up signage at the old Eatsa place at 17th/K NW. According to the signs, it’s a place called Taqueria/Local Taqueria. Their website just has a coming soon and a way to apply for jobs. Hopefully it’ll last longer than Eatsa!”
Eatsa’s “fully-automated faster food experience” closed back in October. Updates as the Taqueria gets closer to opening.

Stone Fish Grill opened in the former Balletto space at 17th and L Street, NW back in 2013.

From Stonefish’s Website:

A few weeks ago we learned that Naan and Beyond was moving from L Street to Vermont Ave in the former Juice Joint space.

Apparently they’ve also opened a food truck in the interim:

Ken reports:
“Signage has gone up for a new Smoothie King in Farragut North in the building near the Connecticut/K entrance. This is next to the Starbucks and the Pret.”
RIP that old magazine/newspaper store – what was it called again? News World.

Thanks to Meghan for sending word about another new Joe & The Juice location coming to downtown. The first one is coming to the former CVS at 15th and K Street, NW. For those not familiar check out their menus here.
Stay tuned for updates as both locations get closer to opening.

Thanks to Jessica for reporting:
“FYI, Zen Taco opened today.
Had the taco chinos; I’d give it a solid B. The same owners and staff as Custom Fuel, which is nice to see. Clearly some first day kinks to work out, but should be a great addition to the neighborhood. And their prices seem a bit lower than the menu online for the NYC location.
Also – they have frozen margaritas!”

Thanks to Grant for sending word that the liquor license placards for Pisco Y Nazca Gastro Bar have now been affixed to the former Mackey’s space proper:
“New Restaurant, serving Spanish cuisine. Total Occupancy Load is 230, with seating for 230.”
Their website for a Florida location says:
“Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar adds a modern twist to traditional Peruvian cuisine. Inspired by Peru’s top ceviche eateries, this new Miami restaurant serves up bold-flavored dishes, unique cocktails and a vast selection of local and international beers.”
Check out their menu too.
STAY TUNED.

That was fast. Just last week we learned that Bombay Express had abruptly closed after only 8 months. Next up – Daily Pizza & Kabob:
