From CitySwing’s website:

“CitySwing is an immersive pop up golf experience in the heart of the city. We believe golf should be convenient and accessible to everyone. Our environment was created for a wide range of golfers – from those addicted to the game to those that have never imagined themselves participating. Think of us as an alternative to outdoor golf when time, weather or proximity prohibit traditional play and as an inclusive and non-intimidating place to practice, or simply get introduced to the game. We are passionate about 3 things: (more…)

Ed. Note: This is the former Pasara Thai space.

From a press release:

“Monday, July 16 marks the opening of REWIND, a diner, and entertainment venue in the heart of the Nation’s Capital at 1219 Connecticut Avenue, NW that takes a new twist on classic American food and entertainment experiences.

REWIND is the latest venue from nightlife curator Antonis Karagounis and his business partner Arman Amirshahi. The venue joins their successful spaces including world-renowned Echostage, fast-casual eatery Taqueria Local and stalwart D.C. hotspots Soundcheck, Ultrabar and Barcode. Regarding his latest concept, Karagounis notes, “People have loved coming to DECADES to relive their youth through music and drinks so we thought we should include food in that walk down memory lane, too, and that’s when REWIND was born.”

“Au Bon Pain permanently closed at 1100 Vermont (Vermont and L).

This follows the closure of the Zoup! on the other corner, in the same building. They have signage up indicating a full renovation for 2019 and seemingly soliciting new retail and offices… And there was the rumor about a downtown Wawa coming in which no longer seems to be the case.”

1020 19th Street, NW

UPDATE from the owner:

“I changed the name of the restaurant to Bryson’s Cafe after my first born son who is now 13 months. There is no curse! Our business is doing really good especially our catering business. We are actually in the process of expanding and seeking new locations under our new name. 19th St Customers can expect a small remodel coming soon and some minor tweaks to the menu with a heavy focus on our new mix and match tacos which have been wildly popular. Any future remodel work we will just do on the weekends but we will stay open. We will also be running some really good promotions in the upcoming future, such as our $1 large la colombe coffee which we are running right now. Bryson’s is an evolution of Moxies. Since we are locally owned and operated, We took all the feedback from 2 years and we adapted and made improvements. We will continue to improve and customers should check out the “new” Bryson’s Cafe!”
