“Shooting at 5th and Kennedy. Sounded like at least 7 shots.”

and in Bloomingdale around 11:15pm:

“multiple large caliber gunshots (6+) heard in #BloomingdaleDC south of Adams, west of Flagler

“A dozen bangs then pause and 10 more? Hopefully not more gunshots in the Channing/1st area?”

“Just heard what sounded like gunshots by 2nd and W NW.”

“Any word on The Coupe? I walked by today and the front doors now have signage for “Magnolia Cafe” and the inside is totally decorated for Christmas, complete with a Christmas tree. Would love to know what’s going on there!”

“Branding and signage at The Coupe has been replaced by “Magnolia cafe.” I’m intrigued, but can’t find anything about the change anywhere…”

“Getting so tired of typing this: shots fired near 14th and Fairmont in Columbia Heights”

“Another day another shooting near my house in Columbia Heights. 4-5 shots fired around 3:23 PM near 14th & Euclid or 14th & Fairmont.

As of 5:17pm there have been no reports from MPD so presumably nobody was injured. Will update if any official info becomes available.



“DC Police Helicopter circling with spot line trained on 13th and Irving, Street, NW”

Carlee first alerted us around 11:30pm: “Helicopter with spotlight circling go around Columbia Heights +cops headed down 13th. Any clue what’s going on?”

14th and Oak St, NW

One reader reported: “Wanted to report shots were fired around 3:30 pm in Columbia Heights today. Police currently on scene. Any further information would be appreciated.”

Another reader reported: “Not sure if you heard, 4-5 shots fired at 14th and Ogden NW at like 3:15. I almost biked directly through the line of Fire, had to slam on my brakes and duck out of the way to not get hit. Didn’t see if anyone got shot, I ran away.”
