Which do you like better – the paint or the original brick? Their website says:

Personally I think I like the red brick better but I think the outdoor terraces are gonna be pretty sweet. I’ll show updated photos when it’s complete.

“On Saturday, January 10, 2015, around 9:40 pm the victim was shot while in the 3400 block of Holmead Place, NW. He was transported to Medstar by DC FEMS but efforts to save his life failed and he was pronounced dead. Detectives of the Homicide Branch are investigating. The next of kin of the decedent has not been notified at this time. The area will be held by police until a daylight canvass for evidence can be conducted.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 3400 block of Holmead Place, Northwest.
On Saturday, January 10, 2015, at approximately 9:40 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to investigate the sound of gunshots reported in the area of 14th and Monroe Streets, NW. Upon arrival in the area, the officers were directed to the 3400 block of Holmead Place, NW, where they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Eduardo Carias-Martinez, of Hyattsville, Maryland.
Investigation into the incident continues. Suspect information is not available at this time.

While my boyfriend and I were delaying our New Years resolutions and drowning our hungover sorrows in greasy food last week at Ihop, we split the bill with our credit cards. Then proceeded to Target to buy vegetables to make up for the Ihop where we both used our cards again. Both cards were hacked and used around DC today [Tuesday]. Has anyone else experienced this lately in Columbia Heights or at either of these places? Just trying to narrow down the culprit.”

The little free library at Irving and 11th is gone! If it was vandalized, it makes it the second one in the area. The one at Bruce Monroe Park was also vandalized along with the other signs at the the community garden last month. Sad!”

This morning at about 8:35 i was walking to the bus stop and saw a little white dog eating some garbage in my block, and I didnt recognize him as any of my neighbors dogs so I assume he is lost. “He” (couldve been a she) had a collar on but I couldnt tell if it had tags. I tried to coax him over but he spooked and ran away. I saw him on the 1400 block of Parkwood place running towards 14th street (by the Exxon station). He was small to medium, white, shaggy, about 20 pounds I’d guess. Looked like his collar was blue or purple. Very timid- took off running when i took one step towards him.”
