From Nanny O’Briens:

“Join us on Thursday November 17th starting at 6pm for a tap takeover with our pals at Manor Hill Brewing! Kristina from the brewery will be guest bartending while talking shop and has been kind enough to donate all of her tips for the night to the Human Rights Campaign! Nanny’s will also be writing a check to the foundation based on our sales of the Katherine’s Kolsch. In addition to the Katherine’s we’ll also be featuring the Manor Hill IPA, Sunna Rising Pale Wheat, Mild Manor’d Amber, Taylor’s Row IPA and two double IPAs the Citra Splendor and Hidden Hop Yard Volume 5. Hope to see everyone out to help support a good cause while drinking good beer!”

Sad news for Cleveland Park about Sorriso closing:

“Sorriso is a family run neighborhood restaurant located in the heart of Cleveland Park. We offer authentic Italian cuisine using a state of the art wood burning pizza oven and our pasta and desserts are made daily on premise. We use only the finest local and imported meat, fish, and produce.”

Word on the street is that a new Turkish/Asian fusion restaurant will be taking over the space.

Official word for the Sorriso owners:

“I am happy to announce that we have sold Sorriso and will be serving our last meal on Sunday, Oct 30th (Cafe Sorriso in Woodley Park will remain open with many of Sorriso’s favorite dishes joining the menu!) What we originally planned as a 5 year family project turned into an amazing 13 + year run full of love, sweat, tears, and more amazing friendships than we can count. Pietro and Rosemarie will be spending more time in Italy cultivating an organic veggie garden, riding their bikes through the vineyard, and we imagine playing tour guide to many of you.

Lastly, we sold the space to a lovely family who will be opening an entirely new restaurant for our beloved Cleveland Park community. We wish them many beautiful memories and years to come in a special place that we hold dear to our hearts.”
