“Dear PoPville,

Came back from a two week trip to find this little gem hand delivered to my house. Seems members of congress have some new parking enforcement powers over cap hill residents I was unaware of. I’m a Capitol Hill resident for 8 years. No parking restrictions or construction signs were posted. I think dude just resented not being able to park in front of his house.”

“Dear PoPville,

I encountered a peeping tom masturbating outside the window of my ground floor unit last night.

I live on the hill near union station and H street and saw a peeping tom masturbating outside of my ground floor bedroom window last night at 11:45. He saw me notice him and made eye contact and some obscene gestures before running away when I picked up the phone to call the police. (more…)

UPDATE:

My dad has just been found at the Safeway on Alabama Avenue, SE!! The MPD was so helpful throughout and devoted countless resources to ensuring his safe return home to my mom. I’m on my way there to see him now. Thank you and the PoP community so much for your help. It really takes a village, and I’m so glad that DC is mine.”

“Dear PoPville,

Please keep an eye out for my dad John Vlach. He has Alzheimer’s and has been missing from home on Capitol Hill since 7pm last night. Police are searching, too. He is highly mobile and goes for miles-long walks with his care giver everyday throughout parks and neighborhoods in the city and suburbs so he really could be anywhere. Likely wearing a red baseball cap and an unseasonably warm olive green zip-up jacket. Please call 911 if you see him”
