Thanks to Charlotte and Sara for sending:

“When I was passing through the Georgia/Missouri Ave intersection Saturday morning, I noticed an opening soon sign from “Milk and Honey Cafe present Catch 22″ on the former Imm Thai/Brightwood Bistro space.

Catch 22 will apparently feature Southern Seafood & Brunch. I wish them the best & hope they last!”

Oof. Thanks to Nate for sending: “Saw this right at the mouth of the alley at 2nd and Missouri NW. Looks like there will probably be some damage to this one.”

Ed. Note: It had been 14 days since our last stolen wheels.

“Dear PoPville,

Remember the $520k half-house (https://www.popville.com/2017/08/gdon-property-has-been-gutted-and-will-require-finishing-edition-reader-request/)? After being without a second story or roof since at least October 2016, it now looks like this:

Advertised on the sign as 5 bed/5.5 bath and asking price will be $950k.”

From MPD:

“On Friday, March 30, 2018, at approximately 5:00 am, 4th District members heard rapid gunshots coming from what sounded like the 700 b/o Missouri Ave N.W. Moments later, 911 calls started coming into the radio zone giving multiple locations between Missouri Ave. to Rittenhouse, 9th Street to 13th. While canvassing the area, an Officer was flagged down by a vehicle occupied multiple times with the driver stating that he had a gunshot victim on board. The Officer followed the vehicle to Children’s Hospital where the gunshot victim was identified as juvenile Hispanic male, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the right foot. Shell casings we believe related to this event were located in the 5900 b/o 13th Street N.W.

Fourth District Detectives are currently investigating this case. If you have any information regarding this case, please call 202-727-9099.”

Around 8:30pm a reader reported to us:

“Numerous gunshots in or around LeDroit Park”

Another reader reports this morning “20+ rounds fired.”

Anyone else hear this?

Update from another reader:

“Massive barrage of gunfire in Ledroit Park around 9pm yesterday. When the gunshots kept going on so quickly for so long, I thought for a moment it must be fireworks because I’ve never heard gunfire so intense. But it wasn’t fireworks. It was really scary. Cops were on the scene almost immediately – they’ve had a heavy presence in the neighborhood recently. There were still about 7-8 cops in the park when I left for work around 7 this morning.”

Update from MPD via the LeDroit Park Listserv:

“At approximately 9:20 last night, we received multiple calls for the sounds of gunshots in the area 200 V, 4th/Elm and 300 V St. In addition, our Shotspotter detection system alerted to the sounds of gunshots. Our officers arrived and identified a vehicle that had sustained damage from bullets, along with multiple spent shell casings. We did not locate any victims on scene or at area hospitals, and no witnesses have indicated if they saw any people being shot at. One caller observed a white car flee from the area, but it is unknown if that was a suspect, potential victim or possible witness. We completed a report to document the incident, CCN 18-050178.

This morning, a resident coming out to their vehicle observed bullet damage to theirs as well, so we have updated the report to reflect the second vehicle.”
