“A lineup of emerging and established artists, photographers and authors will present their work Sunday afternoon at metrobar‘s inaugural Holiday Art Fair, which will include an art sale, photography exhibit and live music.

Artists from the Artbae and BlkArthouse will be selling their work at the outdoor venue, 640 Rhode Island Avenue NE. Artbae is a collective of DC-area artists who build awareness for activism and social change through arts-centered programming initiatives. BlkArthouse is a DC-based organization that represents emerging Black artists and is dedicated to increasing access and representation throughout the art world. The Holiday Art Fair runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects in connection with Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse offenses that occurred in the Third and Fifth Districts.

· On Thursday, November 4, 2021, at approximately 6:15 pm, the suspects, who were on a motorcycle, approached the victim in the 400 block of T Street, Northeast. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in reference to an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in the 2300 block of Washington Place, Northeast.

At approximately 3:38 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s dog. The victim complied and the suspects then fled the scene.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, October 8, 2021, in the 1700 Block of Independence Avenue, Southeast.

At approximately 8:14 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found that one of the victims displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The second victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Two additional adult male victims were located at a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. (more…)

The expansion will begin with a new DC location in Brentwood.

The restaurant group currently has brick and mortar locations in DC’s Chinatown and Dupont Circle. It will open a delivery only location, which the company calls a “Go Kitchen,” in NE DC’s Brentwood neighborhood on September 20th.  

This month, HipCityVeg also broke ground on its Navy Yard, DC location, which was delayed by the Pandemic.  That store will open in early 2022 for dine-in, takeout, and delivery. (more…)
