A reader reported around 10:15pm Saturday night: “someone was just shot at Bates and N Cap NW. They loaded the guy in the ambulance but seem uncertain about his prognosis”

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the area of North Capitol Street and Bates Street NW. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”

This is just an absolutely terrifying report from some readers in Eckington: “11:02 pm was time of gunfire…

Bullet holes through about seven cars on the unit block of Seaton Place, NE. Bullets also hit the house across North Capitol on the NW side and bullets went through the door into their house. If you zoom on the house pic you’ll see two bullet holes above the door. Note that was ACROSS North Cap. Terrifying it went all the way across and through their house!”

Ed. Note: With our recent coverage focusing almost entirely on the protests I have been deficient in some posts that I would normally cover. I will continue to focus on the protests but include other posts as well. I especially did want to update what happened in Bloomingdale last Sunday because two people were sadly killed. One was 81-year-old Donald Malloy.

“Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality involving a hit and run traffic crash with a double traffic fatality that occurred on Sunday, May 31, 2020, between the intersection of Bryant Street and North Capitol Street, Northeast.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 6:25 pm, a vehicle was traveling at an apparent high rate of speed and struck another vehicle in the intersection of Bryant Street and North Capitol Street, Northeast. The driver of the striking vehicle exited his car and then fled on foot. (more…)
