Marie Reed Modernization Looking Good – Playground Finished, Pool Next

“The new hours for Marie Reed Pool are M-F 6am – 9am and 4pm – 9pm.”

Thanks to all who’ve messaged about the progress of the major Marie Reed modernization in Adams Morgan.

A liquor license placard has now been posted for Alfresco Tap and Grill (from owners of Lauriol Plaza and Cactus Cantina) at the parking lot to be developed next to Jack Rose in Adams Morgan:

“New Class “C” Restaurant serving American comfort food and offering alcoholic beverages. Total Occupancy Load of 350. Offering Summer Garden with total capacity of 150 seats.”

“An update on the agenda for the Wednesday, September 6 meeting of our ANC. There has been discussion inside the ANC on bringing forward to the community a proposal to close 18th St. (and by that I mean the 2300/2400 blocks) to transit traffic on weekend nights.

The creation of a ‘pedestrian mall’ on weekend nights is not new. Veterans of the 18th St. reconstruction project in 2012 will remember well this idea being brought forth. And also will remember the opposition expressed by so many in the community of being forced to deal with the displacement of all that traffic on to the side streets of our neighborhood. Believe me, as a resident of the 2300 block of Champlain St, I get it, I have seen the lines of cars, heard the horns, seen it for myself. (more…)

“We are currently operating as a pop up, previewing our menu of cocktails, beer, wine and antipasti while we work towards a full redesign. No sign up yet, but just look for the white diamond in the front window. You can’t miss it. We are really excited to be operating in Adams Morgan.

Our hours are Tuesday through Thursday 5pm – 2am, Friday and Sat 5pm – 3am, and Sundays 5pm – 1am.”

Meeps Signs New Ten Year Lease in Adams Morgan after Building Sells

“The Feldman Group of Marcus & Millichap announced today the sale of 2104 18th Street NW in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The 2,700-SF asset sold for $1,275,000.

Josh Feldman, First Vice President of Investments, of the Feldman Group exclusively listed and sold the property on behalf of the owner. The asset was purchased by Foxhall Partners, who plan to reposition the property. “The new owners signed the retail tenant to a new 10-year lease, and plan to renovate the two residential units as they roll over,” explains Feldman. The seller had owned the property for 34 years at the time of the sale, and leased the retail unit to the popular Meeps Vintage Clothing in 2006. (more…)
