“Hiring and training are now underway for Wegmans Food Markets’ first store in Northwest Washington, D.C. at City Ridge. Located at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Rodman Street, the store will be part of the historic building formerly occupied by Fannie Mae’s headquarters. The new store is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022. Wegmans plans to employ approximately 450 people at this location, including 150 full-time positions. I know the Giant at 3rd & H has had issues of credit card tampering / fraud / copying in the past and I shopped there on monday and now my card has received a few fraudulent charges at local establishments this week that I did not shop at or visit. Coincidence?! I think not.”

I’ve noticed a significant amount of demo work going on in the former Modell’s store at DCUSA, and next door in the already vacant space that used to be Elite? something or other. They took down a couple of walls to open up the space (for what would make a much bigger single retail space) and they’re even tearing out the drop ceiling that used to be in Modell’s and the previous store next door. “Whole Foods Market announced today that it will open two stores featuring Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology as an option for customers. Located in Washington, D.C.’s Glover Park neighborhood and Sherman Oaks, California, the stores are expected to open next year.
Both stores will offer the high-quality, natural and organic products and locally sourced options that are found in all Whole Foods Market locations – but customers will have an option to skip the checkout line.
