“With the kickoff of a new year, hiring for Wegmans Food Markets’ two metro D.C. stores is underway. Opening in the spring and summer, Wegmans is looking for more than 600 employees to join their Carlyle-Alexandria and Wisconsin Ave. teams.

Located in Northwest Washington, D.C. at City Ridge, hiring for more than 300 part-time positions at the 84,000 sq. ft. Wisconsin Ave. store is set to begin this week. Opening in the summer, part-time customer service roles are available throughout the store in culinary, merchandising, service, and perishable departments. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Have you heard anything about the Union Kitchen on 9th and N St NW? I walked by yesterday (1/9) and it’s completely papered over and dark inside. I didn’t see any signage indicating a closure or remodel.

I live right around the corner and love their breakfast bar so hoping they aren’t going anywhere!”

Update from Union Kitchen: “Hi! We’re undergoing some renovations. Reopening tomorrow and excited to welcome you back!”

“Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) joined leaders from Lidl to break ground on Lidl’s first store in Washington, DC located at Skyland Town Center. Lidl recently ranked a top 3 U.S. grocer by USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards and will be the first new supermarket to serve residents in Wards 7 and 8 in more than a decade. (more…)
