Thanks to Justin for passing on the GoFundMe for Stable’s Chef David Fritsche:
“Greetings. I am Dr. Matthew Antkowiak from AtlasVet on H St NE in Washington DC.
I am starting this Go Fund Me (my first!) for a friend of mine, Chef David Fritsche, whose restaurant, Stable is right next door to our clinic. Over the many years of our working next to each other, I have seen Chef David and his business partner, Silvan, bust their asses to make Stable one of the finest dining establishments on H ST and in all of NE. Like many restaurants, they have had to fight the pandemic, rising crime, ever changing DC restaurant regulations and they have done so by basically by living at their restaurant and producing a consistently amazing product. They are also two of the friendliest dudes you could ever meet.
Unfortunately, Chef David has been beset by two life-altering events: Read More

“Dear PoPville,
As an update to this post about a Hit and Run, friends of the passenger in the rideshare vehicle, Jasmine, have set up a GoFundMe to support her long road to recovery. We’d be very grateful if you could share; she gives so much love and support to everyone she knows, and we want to give her the same in her difficult journey ahead.”

“Let’s come together to help the Maui community Thursday 8/17 from 6-9pm. Happy Hour specials for donors, open to the public. This is a 21+ event.”
From an email:
“Our friends in Maui need our help. While rescue efforts are underway, it’s the broader community who steps in to help in the first moments of desperation.
The Lahaina fire is the deadliest fire in our country in over a century. Maui is remote, and getting supplies and assistance is difficult and slow. Rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts are going to be long and arduous.
I know so many of us our wondering how we can help this devastated community. I hope you will join us for a DC food community fundraiser to help grassroots organizations in Maui get much needed aid to the community, and to show them how much we ache for them.

“Dear PoPville,
The teacher of our 1 year old daughter was recently struck with tragedy when her husband suddenly passed away with a sudden medical condition. Sasha is an amazing humanbeing and has dedicated her life to children. She has two young children herself and they came to the US from Moldova. Unfortunately, with the passing of her husband, Albert, we’re trying to help Sasha stay on her feet and remain resilient for her children. The struggle for her is very real between funeral expenses, rent, grief, and very little family to lean on locally.”
