This week I got an email and the signature line had their name, email address, phone number and “Currently Reading:” which I just thought was the coolest. I’d never seen that before. So, I’m currently reading Isaac’s Storm by Erik Larson and am loving it. All of his books are just terrific. So what are you currently reading? And if it’s not good or you’re taking a break – what was the last memorable book you read?
Just noticed these new (to me) VEO scooters and e-bikes and was wondering if anyone had used them and how they compare to other scooters/bikes. But then I thought what the hell – let’s expand the question a bit for a proper FQotD – how do you get around town mostly these days? Bus? Bike? Car? Walk? Scooter? Metro? Uber/Lyft? Moped? Other?

“please do a call for best bartender in DC my vote is for Alex at the oyster bar at Old Ebbitt Grill. Most seem to agree…the service is top notch. Full disclosure I have spent enough time and money at that bar to have put a down payment on a home in Capitol Hill.”

I was listening to some Waylon Jennings the other day and my goodness. The dude just oozes cool. By no means a perfect person that’s for sure, but that’s a different question. He’s always sounding cool but especially so in this clip:

Today’s Friday Question of the Day comes from my older daughter who had a spirited debate about this: do you like pineapple on pizza? Today’s excellent FQotD comes from my sister in law: What was your favorite 9:30 Club concert?
Super tough one. I’ve narrowed mine down to Wilco in 2006, MIA in 2007, Drive by Truckers in 2009, Amadou & Mariam in 2012, Sturgill Simpson in 2015 and Thievery Corporation a million years ago, that first Thievery one was so so good.
My deepest regret was not being able to get tickets for the Beastie Boys Rock The Vote concert in 2009. It’s the only time I’ve stood outside trying to get an extra ticket and failed. Still haunts me.
