The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking for the event from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm:

I Street between 5th and 8th Street, NW
8th Street between I and G Street, NW
G Street between 8th and 7th Street, NW
7th Street between G and H Street, NW
H Street between 6th Street and 8th Street, NW

Leading the May 29 – June 2 festival lineup are Andrea Bruce, who has reported extensively from conflict zones for the Washington Post and other outlets; Lucian Perkins, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner at the Post who also produced a book chronicling the early days of DC’s punk music scene, and Sharon Farmer, who during the Clinton Administration became the first woman to lead the White House Office of Photography. “The St. Patrick’s Parade Committee of Washington, DC is distraught to announce that the 2019 St. Patrick’s Parade is cancelled.

The Committee is committed to celebrate the 50thanniversary of the St. Patrick’s Parade of Washington DC on March 15, 2020. Fundraisers will still beheld in 2019 to raise the funds necessary to produce the parade in 2020.

Catharsis on the Mall is a First Amendment oriented demonstration the purpose of which is to promote equality and equity for all peoples and to provide cathartic healing for marginalized populations such a indigineous peoples, LGBTQ and gender nonconforming peoples, racial and ethnic minorities, and women. This event is organized by dozens of organizers, artists, justice oriented activists, and movement builders from various reform spaces across the United States. It is a three-day event spanning from Friday November 9th to Sunday November 11th.”

“On Tuesday, October 30, at 7:00 p.m., Mayor Muriel Bowser will serve as the Grand Marshall at the 32nd Annual 17th Street High Heel Race. What began in 1986 as a much smaller event is now one of the District’s most unique and exciting neighborhood celebrations. Today, the High Heel Race draws thousands of residents and visitors to the Dupont Circle Neighborhood to cheer on hundreds of costumed drag queens and race participants as they race down the historic 17th Street, NW.

This year, the Bowser Administration, led by the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs, collaborated with previous organizers, District agencies, and the LGBTQ community to coordinate and lead planning for the Annual 17th Street High Heel Race. Celebrations start at 5:00 p.m., the parade begins at 7:00 p.m., and the race, which generally lasts fewer than 10 minutes, begins at 9:00 p.m.
