The award-winning craft brewpub, along with its food partner Andy’s Pizza, plans to feature a large tap room, outdoor seating, and brewery operations. Atlas Brew Works is the anchor retail tenant at The Douglass, which is currently the largest multifamily development to pursue Zero Carbon Certification from the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), and the only one in the DC area. “Dear Neighbors, Friends and Supporters of the Uptown:

Thank you again for all your support and enthusiasm for our idea to revive the Uptown as a center for arts, film and education.

As you know, last week we submitted our proposal and letter of intent to lease the property. The owners got back to us this week to say that while they are impressed with our efforts and appreciate our vision, they have entered into a letter of intent with an “arts/theater group” that they believe “will change the course of the Uptown and the neighborhood.” (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Change of plans at Spring Valley Superfesh? A couple weeks ago fences went up limiting (but not restricting) access to the parking lot. Late last week the graffiti that had collected was painted over, and this weekend a “For Lease” sign went up on the building. There is also a “For Lease” sign on the space that used to house DeCarlo’s. Did the developers finally give up in light of neighborhood resistance and interest rates?
