“Overhead Baseball Lights at Harrison Park (1300 block V St NW) on 24/7”

UPDATE: “after many calls from my neighbors it seems DPR sent out a maintenance crew and has finally turned off these lights.”

“Dear PoPville,

I live on the 1300 block of V St NW facing Harrison Park. On Monday, a maintenance crew came out and did something to the baseball diamond’s overhead lights. It seems like they haven’t finished that job yet and left a cherry picker parked on V St. Not sure what happened, but every since the lights have been left permanently on and now it’s keeping everyone on the block up at night. As you can see in the photos attached, it is super, super bright – great for nighttime little league games, not so much at 1 AM when we’re trying to sleep. (more…)

I live directly across the street from a DCPS elementary school and when they have field trips/activities, they often hire charter buses that sit and idle for long periods of time. This morning, the charter buses arrived at 5:30am and like always, they sat empty and idling — it is so LOUD. (more…)

Not sure if they started on 1/1 but have gotten $200 in speeding tickets so far in 2024 from the Kenliworth exit off of 295 South.

Wanted to warn D.C. drivers that the 25 mph speed limit is being enforced even if it feels like an offramp from the highway where you’d gradually decelerate from 45-50. (more…)
