“Dear PoPville,

To the young guy who said “that’s some serious mom strength right there,” as we were passing each other on 14th and W on this 81 degree morning around 8:30 – with me holding my 6 month old in one hand and 15 hangers worth of dry cleaned clothes in the other – I just wanted to say thank you for making my day. “Dear PoPville,

As part of a larger renovation, I’m replacing the lead service pipe into my rowhome. Does anyone have any recommendations on who might be the most cost-effective contractor on DC Water’s list of approved contractors for this work? Thanks!”

“Dear PoPville,

Now that jobs are slowly requiring people to come back in, I really do not want to get back on the Metro. Do any Petworth residence have any thoughts advice or suggestions on taking one of the electric scooter Services downtown and home everyday? (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I’m insured through Kaiser in the DMV (closest to the Capitol Hill location) and have found it difficult to understand their therapy/counseling options. Has anyone else been able to find access to a therapist while insured under Kaiser, and if so, would you be able to provide tips? Did you make an appointment online or were you strictly able to find services by calling in? Were you limited to providers at certain locations only?”

“Dear PoPville,

Was wondering if you’ve heard any sort of update on the slow street project? I know it was supposed to end “in May”, but June has come and all of the signs are still up on all of the streets.”

“Dear PoPville,

When we moved into our last home we provided our landlord with all the information to transfer DC Water over to our new account. They never did that and told us not to worry about it (which we have in writing). We interpreted that as, we aren’t paying for water. We never received a bill from them so we assumed that was also their interpretation. Turns out their interpretation was the bill would just stay in their name and they would bill us. Fast forward 12 months and now they’re charging us $1,200 for 12 months of water bills. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I was parking and clipped a biker in Columbia Heights. He swerved but kept going and i tried to follow him on foot (I was a little flustered and apparently didn’t remember that I had a car and could follow him- which admittedly prob also would have been sketchy). I want to see if his bike is damaged or if there is anything I can do. I bike a lot so I am mortified i was that person.”

If this was you and would like to speak to OP please email me at [email protected] and I’ll put you in touch.
