To the young guy who said “that’s some serious mom strength right there,” as we were passing each other on 14th and W on this 81 degree morning around 8:30 – with me holding my 6 month old in one hand and 15 hangers worth of dry cleaned clothes in the other – I just wanted to say thank you for making my day.
I walked back home with a huge smile on my face, and explained to my daughter how proud I felt.
Being a mom is no joke. Support, encouragement, and general acknowledgment from the community goes a long way – at least to this sentimental, somewhat new, mom.
