Ed. Note: Not looking good. I know they had locations in Columbia Heights and Dupont. Any other DC spots?

“Dear PoPville,

I am looking for some guidance on registering a canoe in DC. I am purchasing a canoe from Craigslist in MD which has not been previously registered and has no bill of sale. I am a DC resident and plan to use primarily in DC.

DC has documentation readily available, but the title needs to be notarized. It seems unrealistic to have a notary at the transaction. (more…)

“When I move into a neighborhood, I really try to become a part of the community. My favorite thing to do is find coffee shops to try out and meet the staff. Before I moved to Columbia Heights, I visited a bunch of coffee shops.

Tynan is by far my favorite coffee shop in DC (and honestly, ever!), and holds an incredibly special place in my heart because it was the first place I dined indoors and sat into work after being fully vaccinated. The staff are incredibly friendly (shoutout to John, Leti, and Maria!), (more…)

Any idea what’s going on with Metro’s automated announcements? When I got to Shaw-Howard this morning I was greeted with the following message playing every five seconds…for 10 minutes until my train came.

Attention attention would the station manager report to the kiosk and inspect your F9 panel(?) and notify central of any discrepancies. Thank you.”

This piece of artwork was sold by Miss Pixie’s on June 30th, and I can’t seem to get it out of my head. As soon as I saw it on IG I called to buy it, but sadly no one answered and a couple hours later when I looked again it had been sold to someone else. I come from a family of tall ship sailors and have a connection to some of the boats pictured. (more…)
