I was sitting in Dupont Circle having coffee, he came up acted like he did not know the city well and was new to DC from Astoria NY. Seemed professional and clean cut, intelligent and his story tracked as far as what he knew about NYC and his phone number was NYC area code. I started feeling uncomfortable after I gave him my number and he sent me his. He kept asking about coffee shops that were open on Christmas and trying to get me to go for a walk with him. (more…)

Does anyone knows what’s up with all the yellow Yankee buses all around the city.
We just passed like 6 of them in a row on Constitution (Friday, Dec. 27th)
I saw one that said Metro bus in the window downtown earlier this week but this seems excessive for metro work and they are in really random parts of town.”

“The day after it was posted to PoPville (Dec 5) and 2000+ days after the May 2019 work order to fix this “net” was opened, DPR came out and fixed ONLY the goal nets – not the big safety “net” designed to keep balls and kids out of the street. (more…)

I recently joined Mint Dupont and now find out it’s going to be closed for remodeling from Christmas to new year’s. While I fully support the hard-working staff getting a break the closure is actually due to construction, hope they’ll be nice improvements. Wondering if anyone knows the date for the new WMATA buses? The announcement is clear as mud. It says changes start on Dec 15, but I have seen my old bus route (N2) running when I know it will be renamed and have the route changed. Trying to figure out the new schedule, but can’t even determine when the changes happen. Any insight would be helpful!”
I’m told:
“The new service will start June 29, 2025.
Updated schedules and trip planner will be released in spring.“

Lately I have had to take the 42/43 buses downtown for a job that requires me to be absolutely punctual. The first day I was caught off-guard and was nearly late because I was unaware that there is a
change of drivers at Farragut Square at 8:45am. Several times my bus has been delayed because the driver was not present when we arrived. (more…)
