“Dear Popville,

It’s that time of year again! My partner and I are cleaning out our apartment and have quite a few CDs, books, clothes, and suits that we don’t want to just throw away, but are ready to part with. We were wondering if anyone in the community may have recommendations for what we can do with these items—perhaps local non-profits that provide used suits to individuals interviewing for jobs, bookstores that accept used books, etc. Many thanks!”

I started feeling uncomfortable after I gave him my number and he sent me his. He kept asking about coffee shops that were open on Christmas and trying to get me to go for a walk with him. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Does anyone knows what’s up with all the yellow Yankee buses all around the city.

We just passed like 6 of them in a row on Constitution (Friday, Dec. 27th)

I saw one that said Metro bus in the window downtown earlier this week but this seems excessive for metro work and they are in really random parts of town.”

From WMATA: “Opening early, under budget: Downtown Metrorail construction wraps up a day ahead of schedule (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

I recently joined Mint Dupont and now find out it’s going to be closed for remodeling from Christmas to new year’s. While I fully support the hard-working staff getting a break the closure is actually due to construction, hope they’ll be nice improvements. Here’s the rub, I’ve asked and they refuse to prorate the monthly membership fee, (more…)
