A bit of a wet, muddy rainy snowy mix today. Still nice to look at!

“Dear PoPville,
What do I do with the snow when I clear off the car? Leave it in the street? Shovel it onto our easement? My husband and I just bought a house, and this is the first time we’ve had street parking. It’s the first time we’ve had to worry about this problem, as well, even when we lived in a building with an outdoor lot.
For what it’s worth, I did the latter the other day because it was a fair amount of snow, and I was self-conscious. My block is almost entirely populated by people who’ve lived here for at least a decade, but more often several decades, so I didn’t want to rock the proverbial boat. I also wasn’t sure if there was some implicit rule city-wide about the etiquette around this.”

Thanks to Ben for sharing this beautiful recap:

Emir shares with us yesterday: “#traderjoes of 14th street #WashingtonDC has a very low inventory due to the snow storm. They’ll restock Thursday #dc”
Rachel notes the effects of the storm were felt as early as Sunday: “Not gonna lie, almost cried when I saw they were out of salted peanut butter pretzels on Sunday lol”
and Ivana noted yesterday: “And don’t bother going to the Safeway at 5th/L St, they’re out of nearly everything”
Good luck today people, and remember, this is no excuse to skip 2nd breakfast, arguably the most important meal of the day.

A few folks were asking for sledding recs so let’s put together some recs here so I can refer folks to next time. Obviously the Capitol grounds remains off limits for now, so if folks have alternatives for those on the Hill that would be great. Looking for fun spots all over the District. (more…)

Bravo. Thanks to Lee Whitman for sharing with us.
