I used to get my hair cut by Lareesa at the Hair Cuttery in Dupont Circle, which closed a few months ago when all salons were closed. Since then other Hair Cuttery salons have reopened but I don’t know where the stylists who used to work at the Dupont Circle location ended up. Maybe some of your readers have heard something? There were a lot of great stylists there who had regulars and I sure would love to know where Lareesa ended up!”

First the World Market closed inside the Bed Bath and Beyond in Chinatown and soon it’ll be farewell in Friendship Heights.

Did I need box of herring fillets, a 6 pack of Tsingtao beer, a king tut mini snow globe and zebra travel umbrella? No, no I did not*. Did I buy them because they were on sale? Yes. Yes I did. [*my children would disagree. On the snow globe and zebra umbrella anyway.] Get yours by the end of the month. (more…)

To continue their mission of building community by enhancing experiences through art & design and creating unique connections, Swatchroom is launching COMMON THREAD, celebrating what connects everybody through their ability to provide for each other individually and collectively. Designed to offer an accessible and sustainable retail experience focused on giving new life to gently used clothing, footwear & accessories while supporting the local community.

Curated vintage men’s and women’s clothing and one of a kind sneakers can also be shopped during a special vintage and bespoke resale.
