800 Upshur Street, NW

Update from CINDER:

“This came out of nowhere. We had been in active dialogue with the landlord to sort out payments owed to both parties – including back rent from the previous tenant which we are indemnified from, money owed to us from the numerous times the landlord failed to pay the building’s water bill and we had to close, as well as reduced rent during Covid.

We were in the middle of figuring out a payment plan that was fair to both parties, and then they went radio silent. We’re hopeful we can continue those negations and find a path forward that lets us continue serving this community we love so much.

Ed. Note: Cinder is beloved in Petworth, and beyond. Really hope they can work this out.
