Last month we learned that Booeymonger had abruptly closed in Friendship Heights, thus ending their presence in DC. At that time we heard the folks running the adjacent corner store were exploring taking over the sandwich shop. But according the the sign above – looks like Booeymonger is coming back! (more…)

Update from DC Fire and EMS: “Update Box Alarm 1600 block 14th St NW. Fire under control with no injuries. Investigators on scene to determine cause.”

Thanks to Dana and Mike for sending: “Just saw that Bammy’s closed but don’t see anything about why… Any info? I LOVED that spot and saw PoPville did too.”
“the Bammy’s website has been taken down. It’s kinda crazy to me how they haven’t told any of their customers that they closed. And won’t respond to inquiries about it.”
Bammy’s IG now says: “Our Navy Yard Location is Currently Closed.”

At the old Cobalt site at 17th and R, here’s a look at the ground-level retail space. Building permit says, “interior build-out for a new retail bakery with an accessory prepared food shop with 37 seats.” Possibly ThreeFifty bakery from up the street?”
