Does anyone have experience dealing with DC’s Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH)? I was awarded a warranty bond against a developer to fix about $36,000 worth of damage/missing structural issues. The award was granted in August 2021. The developer contested it and we went to court in March 2022. The judge said he would give his decision by May 2022…and it’s now October. (more…)

Has anyone else not had success getting their bulk trash picked up? Twice now 311 has said the item was “not found” but the item is exactly where it’s supposed to be for the pickup and its location was reiterated in the request. (more…)

“Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Health announced that the District’s three monkeypox clinics will transition to walk-up only services beginning Friday, September 23. “AG Racine today filed a lawsuit against Liberty Tax, the third largest tax preparation service in the U.S., for misleading and secretly increasing the cost of tax preparation for thousands of DC taxpayers.

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) alleges that Liberty Tax aggressively markets its services to low-income residents by offering them $50 in cash “just for filing,” but then secretly increases the cost of tax preparation for individuals who accept the cash payment. (more…)

On the night of April 13, 2022, my long-term partner, my teammate in this game we call life, my best friend- Dr. Peter Tripp– killed himself by jumping off the William Howard Taft Bridge. He was 29-years-old. His senseless and untimely death came as a complete shock to all who knew and loved him.

During my search for Peter, that night, I first spotted the police under the Taft Bridge through the bars of the suicide barrier on the Ellington Bridge. A jogger had found him, the police found the jogger, and I found the police. (more…)

We are at wits end with dealing with a nuisance property. For the past two years, we have tried first to be neighborly and also to deal with the landlord but to no avail. In fact, both landlord and tenants have asked us to “stop bothering them”.

Tthe District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announces the release of the DC Circulator Transit Development Plan 2020 Update Final Recommendations. Proposed changes include the preferred alternative for a new service route for Ward 7 that will connect Deanwood Metro Station to Union Station, and some stop consolidation in the Georgetown-Union Station route that will improve reliability for riders.
