Police Looking for Persons of Interest in an Armed Kidnapping Offense in Chevy Chase around 4:45pm

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Investigations Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying two persons of interest in reference to an Armed Kidnapping offense that occurred on Thursday, January 17, 2019, in the 3600 block Livingston Street, Northwest.

At approximately 4:45 pm, one suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and entered the victim’s vehicle. Two other suspects also approached and entered the victim’s vehicle. The suspects forced the victim to drive to the 3700 block of Legation Street, Northwest. The suspects then fled the scene with the victim’s property.

I received a lot of messages this morning along the lines of:

“a car going the wrong direction crashed followed by some weird police activity on quincy place nw around 4am this morning….any intel”

MPD tells me that it was in response to a car jacked vehicle suspect spotted in the unit block of Quincy Place, NW. The actual car jacking occurred in the alley of the 100 block of Q St. NE. The suspect was identified and placed under arrest in the 100 block of Harry Thomas Way NE.

Ed. Note: I got other inquires about helicopters in the area and was told ” MPD’s Air Support Unit did not respond to this call.”

Early Morning Shooting in Brentwood

“On 1/30/2019, at approximately 1:42 AM, members of the Fifth District responded for the sound of gunshots in the 2300 block of 15th Street, NE. The units arrived on the scene and located spent shell casings, but no victim. A short time later, an adult male victim showed up at a local hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to the left hand. This case is currently under investigation by members of the Fifth District Detective’s Office.

Arrest made “in reference to a Kidnapping offense” near Lincoln Park

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced an arrest has been made in reference to a Kidnapping offense that occurred on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in the 1300 block of Constitution Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 11:33 pm, two suspects approached the victim, inside of a residence, at the listed location. The suspects restrained the victim and assaulted him. The suspects took property from the victim and fled the scene.

On Monday, January 28, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19-year-old Fatima Kabia, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Kidnapping.

This case remains under investigation.”

“There was a car jacking on Vermont Avenue and O street in Logan Circle around 7:15pm last night.”

Update from the victim:

“I was actually the one carjacked. Few minor details that need correcting. It was at the corner of O and Vermont, just south of the circle. My car is a dark gray Subaru Crosstrek with DC plates. They came up on me when I was parking (just about to get out) and we’re armed. They also stole my phone. I’ve been parking on the street for years and it’s frequently trafficked by people walking their dogs, so I’m shocked it happened at all.”

Shooting in the 1200 Block of North Capitol St, NW, Again; 5:30pm Shots Fired in Navy Yard

“First District units are were on the scene of an shooting that occurred shortly after 11pm at the corner of New York Avenue and North Capital St..It appears that 2 male subjects approached a male victim on the corner and shot him prior to running away. The victim was taken to a local hospital.

“On 1/26/19 at approximately 5:27 p.m., officers from the First District responded to the 800 block of 3rd Street SE for the sound of gunshots. On scene, officers located several shell casings. At this time, there is no lookout.

Shooting inside of Quara Restaurant on H Street, NE Just After Midnight

“First District units are investigating a shooting that occurred shortly after midnight inside of “Quara” restaurant located at 818 H Street NE. Witnesses are reporting that some type of verbal altercation took place inside that escalated to a male subject pulling out a gun and shooting it at another patron. The victim was found inside suffering from several gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital. Armed Carjacking on Capitol Hill “shortly after midnight”

“First District units are currently on the scene of an Armed Carjacking that occurred shortly after midnight in the 600 block of C Street SE. It appears that 3 male subjects wearing masks, At least one of them displaying a gun, took a Gold Jeep Liberty with DC tags and fled the location in it.. There were no injuries to the victim.
