Guns Recovered at “Marijuana Pop-up Party” in Brookland/Woodridge last night

“Thanks to a tip from an observant anonymous citizen, members of the Fifth District’s Crime Suppression team responded to the 1900 block of Quincy Street, NE, for the report of a Marijuana Pop-up Party.

Once on the scene, the officers received consent to search the residence and located two handguns, and an amount of marijuana, edibles and assorted THC products (pictured). No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

We’d like to thank the anonymous citizen for bringing this to our attention, and encourage everyone who is aware of these events to call 911 or send an anonymous text to 50411.”

Thanks to all who passed on. Fox5 reported: “Hurwitz is co-owner of the 9:30 Club and The Anthem in D.C. He is also chairman of I.M.P., an independent concert promotion and production company based in the D.C. area, which operates the Lincoln Theatre and Meriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia.”

“Detectives from the Special Investigations Division – Vice and Intelligence Unit have charged Seth Hurwitz, age 60, of the 6100 block of Lenox Road in Bethesda, with solicitation of prostitution from a licensed massage therapist at her place of business. Based on statements Hurwitz made to the victim during this investigation, detectives are concerned that there are additional victims. (more…)

Shooting on H Street, NE around 2pm “person has a valid concealed carry pistol license”

“Shortly before 2pm this afternoon two suspect’s approached an individual at the bus stop located at 5th and H Street, NE. One of those suspects voiced his intention to effect a robbery on the individual standing at the bus stop. Upon hearing this and believing the suspect to be armed, this individual brandished his lawfully possessed firearm and shot at the suspect striking him in his arm. This person has a valid concealed carry pistol license in the District of Columbia. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday, August 8, 2019, in the 2300 block of 18th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 12:35 am, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a man down. Upon arrival, members located an adult male, suffering from injuries consistent with an assault. (more…)

UPDATE: “At around 10pm last night, an individual coming from a nearby establishment punched and broke one of our windows. He injured himself and tried to flee the scene. MPD and EMS were quick to arrive and we were told the individual would be arrested after receiving medical attention. We would like to thank our DC Fire Department for coming by today to thoroughly clean the sidewalks with high-pressured water hoses.” – 801 Ownership

“On 8/13/2019, at approximately 8:57 PM, Fifth District units responded to the 1500 block of Benning Road, NE, for the report of the sound of gunshots in the area. Officers began a canvass of the area and were able to locate an adult male and female victim. The complainant’s reported that they were walking at the location when they were approached by 3-4 suspects. The suspects then struck the male victim in the face, and shot the female victim in the lower leg. (more…)
