“On 9/9/19, at approximately 12:24 a.m., officers from the First District responded to the 1500 block of First Street SW for the sounds of gunshots. While searching the area, the officers found an unoccupied vehicle that had been struck several times. Additionally, two windows of a nearby building were also shattered. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the gunfire. There were no usable descriptions of suspects on the scene. (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in connection with a Burglary One and Second Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2019, in the 1300 block 30th Street, Northwest.
At approximately 1:30 am, the suspect gained entry to a private residence. Once inside, the suspect sexually assaulted a female victim. The suspect then fled the scene.
The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Bertrand Joseph Lebeau. He is described as a black male with bald or short hair, and a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt. He may be operating a black 2017 Honda CRV with DC tags FL5215. (more…)

“I was assaulted by a woman outside the Valero on Florida yesterday (Monday) at around 6:35pm. The attack was very violent. I was crossing the Valero parking lot and planned to cross Florida Ave when I noticed her. She looked strange to me so I started walking away in the opposite direction to avoid her but she spun around, lunged for me and threw me to the ground by my hair. “The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying 394 persons and vehicles of interest in reference to large group of individuals who were illegally operating all terrain vehicles (ATVs) and dirt bikes in the 2100 block of Minnesota Avenue, SE, on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at between 3:00 PM and 8:30 PM. “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a Burglary One and Second Degree Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Friday, August 30, 2019, in the 1300 block 30th Street, Northwest.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20-30 years in age, with bald or short hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt.

From Saturday August 31st:
“The First District is currently conducting an investigation into shots being fired in the 1100 block of I St SE. At this time no one has been struck. A vehicle in the area was struck.
The suspects involved in this incident have been described as 2 black male juveniles riding a blue and black Revel Moped. (more…)
