Malik’s mom is a teacher at my son’s daycare and she was so proud of him. You can see in the GoFundMe description that he recently graduated from Marshall University with a degree in computer science. He wasn’t doing anything wrong, he was just walking to work.”

I was at the H St Walmart on Friday and I noticed that in the shampoo aisle, basically all of the hair care products targeted towards Black people were locked up behind a glass door, but all of the products targeted towards white people were out in the open. On March 8, 2020, members of the Fifth District were dispatched to the 1300 block of W Street NE for the report of a robbery. “Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle of interest in reference to an Assault With Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, March 6, 2020, in the 6200 Block of Dix Street, Northeast

At approximately 6:12 pm, members of the Sixth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located four adult males suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. A short time later, Prince George’s County Fire Department reported to MPD that an adult female and a 5 year-old juvenile male sought treatment at one of their fire stations for non-life threatening gunshot wounds. “CHILD SHOT— 10th St and Quincy St NE-DC in the University Heights Neighborhood (near CUA). 12-year-old boy shot in the thigh/femur area. He has good vitals, en route now to a trauma center.”

Update from MPD: “4D was conducting an investigation into a possible carjacking near 14th and Perry. Officers in 3D saw the car driving near Target and stopped it, arresting the driver. Ultimately, it turned out to not be a carjacking but just a Theft/Stolen Auto.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, March 2, 2020, in the 700 block of Quebec Place, Northwest.

At approximately 2:59 pm, members of the Fourth District responded to the listed location for the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 24 year-old Malik Brown, of Northwest, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.”
