“DC’s faith-based organizations are at the very heart of our community, giving us hope in the face of darkness. They embody our DC values of love and inclusivity. An attack on them is an attack on all of us. This weekend, we saw forces of hate seeking to use destruction and intimidation to tear us apart. We will not let that happen, and continue to stand together strong and United to Love. The Mayor’s Office of Religious Affairs and the Metropolitan Police Department are engaging the impacted houses of worship today, and anyone with information or video in the area of the houses of worship should call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.”

“Yesterday evening a complainant left their vehicle running, unattended, and unsecured in the 4400 block of Reservoir Dr NW. The complainant’s juvenile child was also in the vehicle at the time. An unknown suspect made entry and then stole the vehicle from the location with the child still inside. The vehicle was later recovered in the 1600 block of 38th St NW with the child inside and unharmed. Anyone with information regarding this offense are encouraged to contact MPD at 202 727-9099 or via text at 50411.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the 500 block of 11th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 9:00 pm, the suspect and victims were engaged in an argument at the listed location. The argument escalated and became a physical altercation. The suspect then brandished a knife and stabbed four victims. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. (more…)

While at the location officers located multiple shell casing in the block. There were no injuries or property damage reported. Any information please contact 202-727-9099″

Shots Fired in Petworth around 11:30am

9th and Emerson Street, NW

A reader reports:

“There were gunshots this morning in the alleyway near 9th and Emerson Streets NW at around 11:30am. The shots were fired from a gray SUV that was moving through the alleyway. It was three shots fired in rapid succession, and my guess is that they came from an automatic rifle. MPD is on the scene now. Apparently, they were firing the gun into the air from the sunroof.” (more…)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in a homicide that occurred on Thursday, November 26, 2020, in the 2900 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest.

At approximately 9:29 am, members of the Second District responded to the listed location for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, members located an adult male inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. (more…)

9:27pm Double Shooting (one man killed) at 13th and L St, SE, Other Shots Fired/Shootings reported (including another homicide)

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in the 1000 block of 13th Street, Southeast.

At approximately 9:27 pm, members of the First District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located a male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life and the victim was pronounced dead. The victim remained on the scene until being transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Members located an additional adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The surviving victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. (more…)

“any idea what’s going on at the corner of H and 8th NE. Completely taped up 5-6 cop cars/ over 10 officers”

“1D officers and detectives are on the scene investigating a stabbing that occurred today around 3 PM in the 700 block of 8th St NE. During an altercation, an adult male sustained lacerations to his body and was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. (more…)

Readers report: “sounded like 10+ shots near bloomingdale around 12:36”

“Just heard there was a shooting near Flagler Market in Bloomingdale on the corner of Flagler and W. It sounded like 10+ shots were fired in rapid succession. Right now we’re hearing that a person was shot in the leg.” (more…)
