AM wrote: “heard shots fired while having dinner inside my house. Ring said there was a shooting at sherman and fairmont AND one at georgia and gresham. this is so unsettling.”

From MPD: “Shooting Investigation in the 1400 block of 7th St, NW. Lookout for a grayish/blue Merz dark tinted window with sunroof and unknown paper tags. L/S going westbound on P St, NW.”

Readers report around 1:30pm: “there was just a shooting in Shaw on 7th between P and O NW. heard at least five shots, and my friend saw someone hopping in a car immediately after the shots went off. (more…)

“OFF-DUTY OFFICER’S SUV STOLEN DURING HOP-IN, SERVICE GUN INSIDE/ MANHUNT— Thief jumped in while the silver 2018 Equinox sat in Capitol Hill area. He rammed police car at 500 Fl Ave NW. He drove to 1300 V St NW where he abandoned the SUV on foot. GUN IS MISSING.”

EB wrote: “Shooting in Mount Vernon Triangle on K St NW in front of A Baked Joint and La Betty. Multiple gunshots. At least one injured. I’d recommend avoiding the area.”

Alex wrote: “Yep this was scary. We were on the D4 bus westbound on K St NW when we heard the shots – at least 5. Had to lay on the bus floor.”

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District announce an arrest and are seeking additional suspects and a vehicle in a Burglary One While Armed offense that occurred on Friday, November 26, 2021, in the 4200 block of Lenore Place, Northwest.

At approximately 1:50 pm, the suspects forcibly entered an occupied residence at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a knife and demanded property from the victim. The suspects took property and US currency from the victim then fled the scene in a vehicle.

On Friday, November 26, 2021, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One While Armed, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Threats to Do Bodily Harm, and Destruction of Property. (more…)

Arrest Made in June Shooting Homicide of 53 year-old Jeremy Black in Logan Circle

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle in a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in the 1400 block of R Street, Northwest.

At approximately 9:11 pm, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 53 year-old Jeremy Black, of Takoma Park, MD. (more…)
