Smith were joined by local and federal law enforcement partners to announce MPD’s new Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC). The RTCC will serve as a new dedicated space that will be staffed 24/7 with local, regional, and federal law enforcement agencies to monitor and respond to criminal activities in real time. (more…)

I had a run in with this lady back in June on the 1800 block of Columbia Road NW at the entrance of Kalorama Park.

It was at about 10pm and I was taking my dog out. She was walking on the street and kept staring at us. Then she walked across the street and kept staring then started walking toward us. (more…)

1800 block of Biltmore St, NW at noon, third district commander Jim Boteler made the actual arrest of an individual doing smash and grabs out of cars with a side of physical assault. The commander noticed that he had a bag in which there was a clearly visible gun, arrested the man and K9 found the gun Thrown away down the street.

“Metro Transit Police in coordination with U.S. Capitol Police will conduct a full-scale law enforcement exercise on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Capitol South Station. The exercise will simulate a real-life security threat to test operational coordination, communications, and response between law enforcement agencies.

During this time, the Capitol South Station will be closed from opening until approximately 2 p.m. Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Eastern Market and Federal Center SW. (more…)
