The Bamboo Bar at Duke’s Counter will be fully dressed in décor inspired by their new giant neighbours and will feature a panda-themed drink menu suitable for all ages. A neon panda clutching a burger in one paw and a drink in another will welcome visitors into The Bamboo Bar, which will don floor-to-ceiling forest backdrops, panda displays, and of course, bamboo. The District Eagle (Bar) is Landing Again – Likely on U Street!!

“Dear PoPville,

I have on a very good source that the Eagle bar is returning on Jan 22nd. My source tells me they will be at 1357 U Street NW.

My guess is it’s different owners than the folks who had the DC Eagle up to 2020 (which was in NE)… looking this up led me down an interesting rabbit hole on the ownership structure and relationship between the Eagle bars in different cities (apparently there is none!)

Anyway, fun news about another gay bar!”
