From a press release:

“BakeHouse, the bakery and coffee shop at 1407 T St NW, is now working with Ceremony Coffee Roasters of Annapolis. Niall Cooper, owner of BakeHouse, says that the partnership with Ceremony is part of an effort to expand their coffee program and take it onto the next level. “Ceremony is locally roasting some the most beautiful coffee beans on the planet,” according to Niall. “Their dedication to delicious coffee is a great match for the goods that we’re delighted to bake for our neighborhood.”

As well as using Ceremony beans for espresso, drip and immersion coffees, BakeHouse will have a variety of blended and single-origin roasts for retail.”

Thanks to all who sent us emails and tweets about the new signage at Compass Coffee opening soon in the former laundromat next door to Ivy and Coney in Shaw.

“We are a new cafe and roastery dedicated to making real good coffee. We import our beans from all over the world and roast them on site in our cafe to ensure we produce the best tasting coffee in the city.”

Culture Coffee opened up back in Nov. of last year. A great score for that former coffee desert. Now they’ve applied for a liquor license too (I think Qualia and Filter might be the last coffee shops left without liquor licenses…)

The liquor license placard also has one of the funnier typos I’ve seen:

“Coffee Shop that serves sandwiches, pastries, snakes. Entertainment Endorsement/Cover Charge, Open Music, Poetry, Book Readings. Occupancy load 15.”

Hours of operation are listed as Sunday: 10am – 5pm, Monday through Friday: 7am – 10pm, Saturday: 8am – 10pm.
