As if the world wasn’t screwed up enough – we got another serious scandal in our midst.
Hey @CompassCoffeeDC – shouldn’t there be a difference between your Medium & Large coffees? #CompassGate pic.twitter.com/h2zifvhGv7

To be clear, @CompassCoffeeDC still makes DC’s best cold brew. Bummed I’ve been buying Large every day for months instead of Medium. https://t.co/EewdvUVpFQ

From a press release:
“WHO
Blue Bottle Coffee announces the opening of a new cafe in Georgetown, located off M Street and adjacent to the C&O Canal. As the first Blue Bottle cafe to arrive in Washington, D.C., the new Georgetown location is a warm embrace to the burgeoning specialty coffee scene in the community. Guests can enjoy a simple coffee drinking experience with pour over coffee, espresso drinks, and a seasonal menu while observing the foot traffic on the canal and towpath just outside the cafe’s doors. In a city that commemorates the past and legislates the future, it’s good to take a moment in this new light-filled cafe to exist in the present.
WHAT
The Grand Opening of Blue Bottle’s new Georgetown cafe will take place on Sunday, July 9. On Friday, July 7, the cafe will host a special Friends and Family Day where community members are invited to enjoy a cup of coffee on the house. (more…)

Thanks to a tipster for sending word of Compass Coffee’s next location – 800 17th Street, NW:

Compass Coffee recently celebrated being open 1000 days. A couple weeks ago we also learned they were coming to 14th and I St, NW as well. They’re already open at 18th and I St, NW. As for this most recent location coming to 800 17th Street, NW – it’s interesting to note that La Colombe recently opened around the corner in late February.

3064 Mt. Pleasant St, NW
Thanks to Jenna and Andy for sending coming soon shots at the old Flying Fish space in Mount Pleasant. Flying Fish closed back in March. Now we have a name for the new cafe coming from Each Peach Market a few storefronts away – Pear Plum Cafe.
You can get your Pear Plum Cafe gift cards here. Stay tuned.
