“Dear PoPville,

After being out of town for a couple weeks I was so thrilled to see that pylons have been installed on SB 11th @ the NW corner of Lincoln Park, dividing the traffic pattern for those turning left from E Cap in the right hand and left hand left turn lanes. I remember a few months back, a poster wrote in about a traffic ticket for “cutting a police car off” when she was in the left most left turn lane (which directs drivers either southbound on 11th or westbound on North Carolina) and correctly went straight down 11th whereas the officer was in the right most left hand lane which directs drivers westbound on Mass or E Capitol. I drive this route really frequently and almost without fail someone in the right most left turn lane will cross over into my lane (going south on 11th). (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Writing to send out some thanks into the world to a bicyclist who helped un-strand me from Adams Morgan Sunday morning! Something about the cold made my bike lock jam while I was out and about Saturday night, and upon returning to try to rescue it on Sunday morning I still couldn’t get the lock to budge, after which my phone promptly died. “Dear PoPville,

Bear with me, this is a little unorthodox. I’m trying to get in contact with someone who lives at Union Row (Union Row Flats, Warehouses at Union Row) who would like to make some extra money.

I would like to negotiate a deal to pay a monthly fee for access to the resident parking garage so that I can park my bicycle. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Sunday morning around 10:30 Am I was riding an ebike at 14th and U St, NW and I crashed.

It probably did not appear that bad but with my 3 metal joints I was laying on the ground in severe pain. A nice man walked over picked up the e bike for me and asked if I was OK. I was so embarrassed that I got up and said thank you and told him I was fine when I really just wanted to lay there. Lol

He could have went about his day like everybody else but it’s good to be reminded that there are sweet people in this world. And I just wanted to express my gratitude in that moment.

From Lime:

“Lime, the world’s largest provider of shared electric vehicles, launched its brand new Gen4 e-bike today in Washington DC, making the District the first city on earth to experience the new ride. The new bike comes equipped with lock-to technology and a swappable, interchangeable battery that is compatible with Lime’s Gen4 e-scooters, which will significantly enhance the efficiency and sustainability of its operations, and improve vehicle availability for riders. The launch in Washington DC is the first time any city has had a whole fleet of Gen4 e-bikes available following small-scale pilots in several cities in 2021. Lime will continue to launch the industry leading bike in more cities around the world this spring, including other American cities like Atlanta and Charleston.

Next week Lime will also launch its groundbreaking Lime Able program in DC, through which people with limited mobility can reserve a scooter for free and have it delivered to their homes. (more…)
