“My sweet 10-year-old grandson, Jahari, has faced two devastating events in just a week. In his own neighborhood, a teenager, known for robbing young kids in the area, held a gun to Jahari’s head and stole his personal scooter. His mother, a protective educator, hoped that after a week of recovery, a birthday party might give him a small sense of normalcy, so she allowed him to attend his friend’s party. The two friends decided to ride scooters in the neighborhood. Tragically, as they were in the bike lane, Jahari and his friend were hit by a reckless group of illegal ATV riders. Jahari was left in the street bleeding, and his friend suffered injuries as well.
