Back in 2017 this space was home to El Rincon Espanol which closed and then became home to Morgana Italian restaurant, briefly.

I’m gonna start referring to Geoff Dawson as the Sultan of the Subterranean. Obviously he is successful above ground too but what I can I say, I like alliteration! When I spoke to him about his coming plans for the old Meridian Pint/Makan space in Columbia Heights, he mentioned that he is “all in on DC.” I didn’t fully appreciate to what extent he was in then but it’s starting to become clear now.
