I can confirm that prices have suddenly skyrocketed 2x-5x. I have already paid almost $2000 dollars in 2026. At the pace I’m going (see attached), I’ll be looking at $10,000 this year.

This is a longshot, but I thought worth a try. My wife lost her wedding band sometime during her train ride (Amtrak regional #107, approximately 10 pm arrival at Union Station) and the Uber ride home. She went back to the train the night she lost it (big round of applause to the lovely Amtrak staff who very kindly helped her look) and looked through the entire car she was in and the path she took out of the station. No luck with lost and found or the Uber either, (more…)

Thanks to Will for sending: “Spotted on Douglas Street NE this afternoon. Note the squirrel with a nut in its mouth on the porch. We watched for 10 minutes as the two played a game of hide and seek under the patio furniture. Squirrel got away in the end!”
