Blanca is the goofiest dog! If she could cuddle on a person, give them endless kisses, and play fetch every day, she’d be a happy girl. She has the cutest puppy energy and loves playing fetch, chewing on squeaky toys, and chasing a laser pointer in the most endearing way. After playtime she’s happy to just chill out and relax in her crate. Blanca loves going on long sniffy walks and playing with dog friends.

Oreo is as sweet as his namesake, and we’d expect him to be as compatible with you as Oreos are with milk! He’s 10 years old and young at heart. He loves attention and affection and prefers to be near his people most of the time, either laying by you or following you around and chatting. Oreo’s playful side has served him well with his foster family which includes two young children. He’ll chase a ball or string toy. He also loves getting licks from the resident dog! If you’re looking for the perfect companion to sweeten your life, apply to adopt Oreo today!

Thanks to J. for sending from Brightwood Park:

“Three tires popped and two windows smashed.

Perhaps a neighbor was angry over this roaming vehicle taking their beloved parking space”

“Dear PoPville,

Dead goose rotting in Francis Field (1255 25th St, NW) for over two weeks. I have called animal control and put in service requests at DPR and DC 311. They say they will “take care of it” yet it is a huge field and no one bothered to ask the location of the animal or take down my contact info so I can show them. Sports teams and young children ages 3-5 play in this field daily. (more…)

“Dear PoPville,

Follow up from your post three years ago.

I went to print a permit today at district 2 station; the officer helpfully told me that DDOT has not delivered paper in 2 months to any of the kiosks and “they occasionally get paper but do not know when it shows up or how much” and if I really needed to print, I had to go down to DDOT to print it.”

Not charger in question, just one I passed in front of a house the other day.

“Dear PoPville,

We hired a professional electrician to install an EV charger in front of our home in DC (it is on our side of the property line). Fast forward six months, we just received a $4700 fine in the mail from DC for (more…)

Update from ANCJosh (Josh Jacobson):

“Diving board: hoping to replace with a 0.5m board pending DC Health follow up. Diving board standards changed, and pool is not deep enough to support a 1m board. The depth further from board might not be enough for a 0.5m board. Hoping to have more info on approval in 2 weeks.

best case is that a shorter board comes back before end of summer. The pool might not be deep enough to meet health code though.”

“Dear PoPville,

Do you now what happened to the diving board at Banneker pool? Is it coming back?”

I asked DPR 11 days ago (June 5) and was told, “I’ll see what info I can get for you on this.” Unfortunately no further updates despite continued requests. Will update when/if they follow up.
