“Mayor Muriel Bowser, the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), and partners from the Anacostia Riverkeeper invite District residents to celebrate progress toward a swimmable Anacostia River at an event on Saturday, July 8 at 12:00 p.m. The event will give residents a rare chance to swim in and reconnect with the Anacostia River while making history at the first permitted swim event in the Anacostia River in more than 50 years. 2:36pm: “Update 2nd Alarm + 1000 block 31st NW. a defensive exterior attack in progress. 2 firefighters transported with non life threatening injuries. 3 Additional engines requested. Firefighting operations continue.”

Wanted to let you know that a new Thai place has opened up at 2122 P St NW in the old Asia 54 space called Sampannee. My husband and I tried it last night and it was genuinely great! The massaman curry really impressed me and the mango sticky rice was far and away the best I’ve ever had in DC. (more…)
